Ingredients

4 c. bread crumbs
4 1/2 c. flour, sifted
6 c. chopped suet (1 1/2 lb.)
2 c. chopped citron, lemon and orange peel
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. dates, chopped
2 chopped apples
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. mace
1 tsp. allspice
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking powder
3 pkg. raisins
1 pkg. currants
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. dark syrup
6 eggs, beaten
4 1/2 c. wine
1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Combine all ingredients and fill greased pudding molds or baking powder cans, leaving room for swelling.
Cans are covered, then boiled for 6 hours.
Serve with a sauce flavored with brandy or whiskey.
