New England Boiled Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 to 4 lb.) corned beef brisket
    6 small onions, peeled
    6 small carrots, peeled or 3 large carrots
    1 small green cabbage, cored and cut into wedges
    1/4 lb. salt pork, diced
    1 Tbsp. black peppercorns
    3 turnips, peeled and quatered
    6 small potatoes, peeled or 3 large potatoes, quartered
Preparation
    Rinse and dry corned beef; trim off excess fat.
    Place in a Dutch oven.
    Cover with cold water; put on high heat.
    Add salt pork and peppercorns; cover and bring to a boil.
    When boiling, lower heat and gently simmer for 2 1/2 hours.
