Chocolate Nut Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Crisco
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. sweet chocolate
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar.
    Add egg and beat thoroughly.
    Add vanilla, sifted flour and salt.
    Spread evenly on a greased 9 x 13-inch (or 10 x 15-inch) baking pan.
    Bake 25 minutes at 180\u00b0C (350\u00b0).
    Melt chocolate and spread while warm onto baked dough. Sprinkle with nuts.
    Cut into squares or bars while still warm. Makes 25 to 36 pieces.
