Coffee Cake Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk

Preparation

Combine brown sugar, walnuts, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon and butter.
Set aside.
Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Combine egg and milk; add to flour mixture and stir just until moistened.
