Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. white syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    ground nuts
Preparation
    Cook sugar, syrup, water and salt until forms soft ball in cold water.
    Add 1/4 mixture to well beaten egg whites.
    Keep beating.
    Replace sugar mixture over fire; continue cooking until reaches hard ball stage.
    Pour slowly over egg white mixture beating constantly.
    While beating, lift candy into air often to let air in.
    Beat until gloss leaves.
    Spoon onto wax paper.
