Old Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. lemon flavoring or 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
    2 tsp. vanilla
    6 large eggs
Preparation
    Cream sugar, vanilla and shortening until fluffy.
    Add eggs alternately with flour.
    Beat until well blended.
    Add lemon flavoring.
    Pour into well greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 1/2-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until center is done. Cool about 10 minutes on wire rack; remove from pan and cool completely.
