Corn Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) can whole kernel corn, drained
    1/4 c. milk
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. melted butter
    fat for deep frying
Preparation
    Mix egg, salt, milk, flour, baking powder, butter and sugar. Stir with long-handled wooden spoon.
    Add corn; let sit 5 minutes. Drop by teaspoons into hot fat; cook until puffy and golden brown.
    Drain on paper toweling; transfer to warm platter.
    Yields 4 to 6 servings.
