Never Fail Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 beaten eggs
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    1/2 c. water (hot or cold)
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening with sugar.
    Add beaten eggs and cocoa; mix well.
    Add sour milk or buttermilk and water alternately with flour and soda.
    Beat 150 strokes; add 3 tablespoons cold water and pinch of salt.
