Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 lb.) cans sliced beets
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. oleo
Preparation
    Drain beets, reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
    Mix sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.
    Blend in reserved beet liquid, vinegar and salt.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Reduce heat; simmer for 2 minutes.
    Add beets and simmer for 15 minutes longer.
    Stir in butter before serving.
