Grandma'S Ginger Snaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening (Crisco) or butter*
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 egg
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    *Cookies baked with butter will be soft and chewy; cookies baked with Crisco will be crunchier.
