Codfish Cakes (Marinade) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. salty codfish
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 c. milk
    4 stalks scallions, finely chopped
    3 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. chopped fresh hot pepper or to your taste (optional)
    1 small grated onion
Preparation
    Soak codfish in cold water overnight; discard water.
    Boil 1 quart of water; drop codfish in water.
    Turn fire off; let stand 10 minutes.
    Discard water.
    Cool and shred cod.
    Mix egg with 1 1/2 cups water and milk; pour over flour mixture and gradually make a soft paste.
    Add other ingredients.
    Mix well.
    Drop 1 tablespoon at a time in hot oil (deep fry).
    Very good as an appetizer.
