Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. squash
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 c. pecans, chopped or water chestnuts, sliced
    1/2 c. cheese, grated
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1/4 bell pepper, finely chopped
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 stick margarine
    salt and pepper to taste
    cheese cracker crumbs
Preparation
    Cook squash, drain and mash.
    Add all remaining ingredients except margarine and cracker crumbs.
    Place ingredients in buttered 2-quart casserole dish. Top with crumbs and dot with margarine. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    May be frozen. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
