Red Christmas Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. red food coloring
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. cake flour
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, and beat.
Mix food color and cocoa together.
Add to mixture.
Blend well.
Mix buttermilk and vanilla.
Add flour and salt, alternating with buttermilk and vanilla to mix.
Combine white vinegar and soda.
Add to the mixture while still foaming.
Bake in two cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
