Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. thinly sliced squash
    2 c. thinly sliced onions
    2 c. vinegar
    plain salt
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine squash and onions; sprinkle with salt.
    Let set for 1 hour.
    Drain off liquid.
    Mix vinegar, sugar, celery seed and mustard seed in a saucepan.
    Bring to a hard boil; then add squash and onions.
    Bring to a boil and then fill jars.
