Watermelon Rind Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 lb. watermelon rind
    9 lb. sugar
    1 pkg. lily lime
    1 box stick cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. whole allspice
    2 Tbsp. cloves
    1 qt. vinegar
    green cake color
Preparation
    Slice rind in small thin pieces.
    Soak overnight in lily lime. Rinse in the morning and put in boiler; cover with water and cook 3 hours.
    Add green cake color, spices, vinegar and sugar; cook until tender.
    Put in jars and seal.
