Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) chicken
    1 onion
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 can chicken broth
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    Boil chicken with onion until tender; remove to cool.
    Add to chicken broth the soup and butter.
    Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    Bring to a rolling boil and add dumpling squares one at a time.
