Date Nut Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chopped dates
    2 c. boiling water
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    6 Tbsp. butter
    4 tsp. soda
    2 c. flour
    2 c. chopped English walnuts
Preparation
    Put dates and butter in mixing bowl.
    Pour boiling water over and soda and allow to cool a bit.
    Add remaining ingredients and mix.
    Pour into a greased or wax paper lined 9 x 13-inch baking dish and bake in slow oven for 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
    Garnish with warm lemon sauce or whipped cream (Cool Whip).
