Grammy'S Cinnamon Cucumber Rings Or Mock Apple Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. pickling lime
2 gal. cucumber rings
5 c. vinegar
1 Tbsp. alum
1 bottle red food coloring
12 c. sugar
1 pkg. red hots
8 sticks cinnamon

Preparation

Day One:
Combine 2 gallons water and pickling lime.
Add cucumber rings, peeled and sliced about 3/8-inch thick.
Scoop out the seeds.
Let stand 24 hours.
