Pumpkin Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 c. canned pumpkin
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 c. flaked coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease jelly roll pan.
    Cream shortening and vanilla.
    Add sugar; cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs and pumpkin; beat well.
    Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and spices.
    Stir into pumpkin mixture, mixing until smooth.
    Blend in coconut and nuts.
    Spread batter in pan; bake for about 35 minutes.
    Cool; cut into bars.
    Makes 32 bars.
