Scones - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation

Sift first 4 items.
Cut in shortening until coarse.
Beat eggs together with buttermilk; then pour into dry ingredients and mix to make soft pouch.
Turn out dough on a lightly floured board and pat into 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut in 8 inch diameter with large cutter and each into 4 parts.
Total of 16.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
