Poor Man'S Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 box raisins
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
4 c. flour
pinch of salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. sour milk
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Place raisins in pan and cover with water.
Bring to a boil; simmer 10 minutes.
Take off heat and let cool.
Should be only a little water left in pan.
Keep it; do not drain.
