No Bake Date Crunch Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    powdered sugar
    2 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
    extra butter or margarine
Preparation
    Grease a 9 x 9-inch pan with butter or margarine.
    Dust with powdered sugar.
    Boil butter, sugar and dates together 5 minutes. Stir constantly.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Pour over Rice Krispies in a large, buttered bowl.
    Mix.
    Spread in pan.
    Dust with more powdered sugar.
    Cut when cool.
