Charlie'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. light corn syrup
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 lb. shelled raw peanuts
Preparation
    Butter 2 baking sheets, each 15 1/2 x 12 inches; keep warm. Combine soda, 1 teaspoon water and the vanilla; set aside.
