Pain Perdu(Lost Bread) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 eggs
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
sliced white bread (stale)
cooking oil
powdered sugar
Preparation

Beat eggs well.
Add sugar rapidly; continue to beat.
Add cornstarch and, when mixed, add milk, cinnamon and vanilla.
Dip bread slice in mixture, coating each side thoroughly.
Use just enough oil to cover bottom of skillet and fry over moderate heat. Fry each slice until golden brown.
Serve hot, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
