Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    4 c. sliced peaches
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    whipped cream (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Mix 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in 2-quart saucepan.
    Stir in peaches and lemon juice.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
    Boil and stir 1 minute.
    Pour into ungreased, 2-quart casserole.
    Keep peach mixture hot in oven.
    Put shortening into flour.
    Add 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Mix until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
    Stir in milk.
    Drop dough by spoonfuls onto hot peach mixture.
    Bake until topping is golden brown, about 25 to 30 minutes.
    Serve warm, and if desired, top with whipped cream.
