Sweet Dough - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. lukewarm water
1 c. pastry flour
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. yeast
1 large whole egg
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation

Soften yeast in 1/2 cup of the warm water.
Mix sugar, salt, shortening and yeast (which has been softened).
Add remaining 1/2 cup of water and the egg.
Add flours and mix well.
Knead on lightly floured board for 5 minutes.
Let rise until double in bulk (about 1 hour).
