Potato Pancakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large potatoes (about 1 1/4 lb.), peeled
    1 medium onion (optional)
    1 egg
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. white pepper
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    about 1/2 c. oil for frying
Preparation
    Grate the potatoes and onions (if you are using them) with the grating disk of food processor or using the large holes of a hand-held grater.
    Transfer the potatoes and onions to a colander. Squeeze mixture to press out as much liquid as possible. Transfer to bowl.
    Mix in the egg, salt, pepper, flour and baking powder.
