Pear Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 peck pears
    5 medium onions
    6 green peppers, seeded
    2 lb. sugar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    5 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. mixed pickle spices tied in cheesecloth bag
Preparation
    Peel and core pears. Grind pears, onions and peppers in food chopper.
    Place in saucepan.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil.
    Cook 30 minutes.
    Stir frequently.
    Remove spice bag. Pour into hot sterilized jars. Leave 1/4-inch headspace.
    Adjust lids.
    Process 5 minutes in boiling water bath.
    Makes 8 to 10 pints.
