Quick Pan Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 c. warm water
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 egg white
    1 Tbsp. water
    poppy or sesame seed
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of warm water in a large bowl.
    Add sugar, salt, egg, shortening and 1 cup of flour.
    Beat until smooth.
    Stir in remaining flour and continue stirring until smooth.
    Scrape batter from side of bowl.
    Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled (30 minutes).
    Stir batter and turn onto floured surface.
    Divide into 12 equal parts.
    Shape into smooth ball with lightly greased fingers.
    Place in greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Let rise until doubled (20 to 30 minutes).
    Beat egg white and 1 tablespoon of water slightly and brush over rolls.
    Sprinkle with seed.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Yields 12 rolls.
