Meat Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 c. bread crumbs or crackers
    1 egg
    2/3 c. tomato juice
    2 Tbsp. butter
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter for 5 minutes.
    Add to ground beef in large bowl.
    Sprinkle in salt and pepper; mix well.
    Stir in crumbs, eggs and juice.
    Shape into a loaf.
    Place in a greased pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 60 to 90 minutes or until browned.
    Remove loaf and place on platter.
    Serve with brown gravy.
