Picante Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
1/4 c. margarine
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1/3 c. picante sauce
Preparation

Heat an 8-inch cast-iron skillet at 425\u00b0 for 5 minutes. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, soda and salt in a large bowl.
Make a \"well\" in the center of the mixture; set aside. Combine buttermilk, eggs and picante sauce.
Add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
Remove skillet from oven; add butter.
Pour melted butter into batter.
Blend well and pour mixture into hot skillet.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until golden.
Yield:
8 to 10 servings.
