Pasta E Fagioli(Macaroni And Beans) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. salad or olive oil
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 (1 lb.) can Italian tomatoes (undrained)
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground pepper
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 1/2 qt. boiling water
    1/2 pkg. (7 or 8 oz. size) shell macaroni, elbow macaroni or other tubular pasta (2 c. cooked)
    1 (15 oz.) can red kidney beans or cannellini beans (undrained)
    grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    In hot oil in 5-quart Dutch oven or heavy kettle, saute garlic and onion, stirring, until golden, about 5 minutes.
    Add tomatoes, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, oregano and parsley.
    Simmer, covered, 30 minutes.
    Mash tomatoes.
