Fresh Plum Cobbler - cooking recipe

1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/4 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp. almond extract, divided
Preparation

Combine sugar and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Add flour, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and baking powder; mix with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Remove and reserve 1 c. mixture. Combine 1 beaten egg and 1 tsp. almond extract. Stir into remaining flour mixture to form a soft dough. Pat dough evenly into a greased 9 inch square baking dish. (Dough may be sticky; flour hands if needed.) Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
