Crusty Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. meal
1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. shortening
Preparation

Combine first 6 ingredients.
Mix well.
Add egg and milk. Stir until smooth.
Melt shortening in skillet.
Pour hot shortening into batter and mix well.
Pour batter into skillet. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
