Boiled White Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 egg whites
    3/4 c. water
    vanilla flavoring (optional)
Preparation
    Boil all ingredients except egg whites until at a soft ball stage.
    Cook slowly.
    Beat 2 egg whites until stiff.
    Add boiled mixture slowly to whites while continuing to beat.
    Beat until desired consistency.
