Layered Salad With Sweet Onions - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large sweet onion, sliced
1 head lettuce, well drained
1 green pepper, sliced into rings
1 can sweet peas, drained
1 c. diced celery
1 lb. crisp fried bacon, crumbled
1/2 pt. mayonnaise
1 c. sour cream
2 Tbsp. sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 c. chopped roasted peanuts (optional)
Preparation

Break lettuce in small pieces.
Place in bottom of a large salad bowl. Cover with layer of green pepper, onion rings, peas, celery and bacon.
Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar and spices together. Smooth mixture over top of layered vegetables.
Sprinkle cheese over mixture. Refrigerate several hours. Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top before serving.
