Never Fail Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/8 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and cornstarch.
    Add water and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and clear.
    Cool. Beat egg whites with salt and vanilla.
    Add 6 tablespoons sugar gradually, beating after each addition of ingredients.
    Add cooled cornstarch mixture and continue beating until peaks form.
    Use as desired.
