Rice With Peas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. rice
    1 (16 oz.) can green peas
    1/4 lb. cooking ham, diced
    1/2 onion, diced
    1 green pepper, diced
    3 cloves garlic
    1/3 c. vegetable oil
    1 envelope Sazon
    4 oz. tomato sauce
    2 tsp. salt
    4 c. water
Preparation
    Fry the ham for 3 to 5 minutes in the oil.
    Add onion, green pepper, garlic, Sazon and the salt.
    Cook for 10 minutes.
    Add peas and 4 cups of water.
    Let it come to a boil.
    Add the rice; stir it.
    Leave the rice uncovered until all the water is almost absorbed, then cover for 10 minutes.
    Serves 6 to 8.
