Cheese Wafers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. New York sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
    1 stick butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    dash of red pepper
    1 egg, beaten
    pecan halves
Preparation
    Cream the cheese and butter. Combine flour and red pepper. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
    Shape dough into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten to 1/4-inch thickness. Brush wafers with beaten egg.
    Top each wafer with pecan half.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Remove from pan while hot.
    Sprinkle lightly with salt.
