Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    1/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (if desired)
Preparation
    Grease an 8-inch pan and line with wax paper.
    Melt together unsweetened chocolate and shortening.
    Beat eggs well and add sugar gradually.
    Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add chopped nuts, if desired. Spread in pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    (Don't overbake if you like them \"chewy\".) Invert pan on cake rack and cool.
    Peel off wax paper.
