Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. thinly sliced squash
    3 c. onions, thinly sliced
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Pack squash and onions in 1/2 cup salt and ice for 3 hours. Wash and drain good.
    Boil remaining ingredients.
    Add squash and onions and bring to another boil.
    Put in pint jars and seal.
