Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. scalded milk
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. coconut
    3 egg yolks
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix sugar, salt and cornstarch together; then pour into egg yolks that have been well beaten.
    Pour scalded milk into this mixture.
    Put in top of a double boiler and stir while cooking until mixture is thick.
    Add butter, coconut and vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue.
    Brown.
