Baked Yellow Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. yellow squash
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    cracker meal or seasoned bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 stick butter
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Steam squash until tender.
    Mash squash.
    Add onion, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, pepper, eggs, 1/2 stick butter, sugar and salt. Combine well.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Pour squash in greased 2-quart baking dish.
    Melt remaining butter and spread on top. Sprinkle with bread crumbs to suit taste.
    Bake 1 hour.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
