Apricot Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    apricot preserves
    3/4 c. butter
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Press 2/3 of mixture
    into cookie sheet (will cover about 3/4 of pan).
    Spread apricot preserves over this.
    Put rest of mixture over the top in small pieces.
