Sausage Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. raisins
    1 lb. sausage
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. boiling water
    3 c. flour
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Separate sausage into small pieces and combine with raisins. Pour boiling water over sausage and raisins and allow to boil about 4 minutes.
    Let cool and add soda.
    While mixture cools, sift together flour, sugar and spices.
    Sift into sausage mixture and combine well.
    You may add nuts and fruits from your favorite cake recipe.
    Bake 1 to 1 1/4 hours in slow oven at 300\u00b0.
