Spice Squares(Low Cholesterol) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dark brown sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. raisins
    1/3 c. oil
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. warm water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Combine the first 3 ingredients.
    Boil 3 minutes in pan large enough to mix everything.
    Cool, then add oil.
    Mix together the soda and 1 tablespoon warm water.
    Add to first mixture.
    Sift together the dry ingredients; add walnuts.
    Mix all with wooden spoon right in pan.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0.
    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar when cool.
