White Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. water
    4 to 6 egg whites
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar.
    Sift together the flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and salt.
    Add to Crisco mixture with water.
    Beat into batter.
    Beat 1 teaspoon baking powder with egg whites until stiff.
    Fold into batter.
    Bake in 3 greased layer pans at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes or in a 9 3/4 x 13 x 2 1/4-inch oblong cake pan for 30 minutes.
