Pear Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    dash of salt
    1/2 to 3/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
    1 c. sweet milk
    1 medium size can pears
    3/4 c. water
    2 tsp. melted butter
Preparation
    Melt butter in bottom of pan.
    Pour batter over butter; pour pears and the juice (with water added) over batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until brown on top.
