Sandy Gustafson'S Ham And Cheese Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. diced tomatoes
    1/2 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 c. cubed ham
Preparation
    Combine water, vegetables and seasoning.
    Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
    Do not drain.
    Make white sauce of flour, butter and milk.
    Add Cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
    Add ham and undrained vegetables.
    Heat, but do not boil.
