English Muffin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 c. unsifted plain flour
    1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    2 pkg. yeast (I usually use 3 pkg.)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. water
    cornmeal
    Crisco
Preparation
    Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.
    Heat milk and water until very warm (120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0) and add to dry ingredients, beating well.
    Add 1 cup whole wheat flour and then add remaining 2 to 3 cups flour to make a stiff batter.
    Spoon or spatula into 2 loaf pans that have been greased with Crisco and lightly sprinkled with cornmeal.
    Then sprinkle cornmeal on top of the loaves.
    Let rise in a warm place about 30 minutes or until dough is near the top of the baking pans.
    Bake 22 minutes at 400\u00b0.
